A gift,
with a pen.
Born Mpho Princess Lavisa in 1999 in Kwa-Thema, a township in the Ekurhuleni region east of Johannesburg. Her voice was shaped where most great South African voices are — in a school choir, then carried into church, where the nerves fell away and the confidence grew.
In 2021 she walked into the studio with producer Naco and walked out with “Shh Ngane” — her first record, and the start of everything. A session with amapiano producer Mickman gave the world “Izapha,” and the features kept coming.
By 2025 she was a name on the credits that matter — writing and singing alongside Mellow & Sleazy, ShaunMusiq, DJ Maphorisa and more, and appearing across the scene’s biggest EPs, albums and visualisers. Then came Bang’bonile — and a whole country learned the words.
“She’s what you want to hear every day.”
